Tom Gardner has been one of the foremost painters of this region for several decades now, his influence reaching well beyond his distinctive paintings. He is also known as a teacher and a sculptor of large public pieces, many well known to the inhabitants of the Twin Tiers. Tonight, Friday, May 6th, his paintings take center stage as his exhibit, Quiet Places, begins at the West End Gallery in Corning.
It’s always a lively affair at Tom’s openings and tonight should be no exception. He has produced a wonderful group of new work that highlights the landscapes both from the Finger Lakes region and from far flung regions that Tom has visited in the recent past as well as an assortment of figurative pieces portraying those folks he met along the way.
Quiet Places begins tonight with an opening reception that starts at 5 PM and runs to 7:30 PM. Music will provided by Denny Hall and John Manfredi.
