A New Site and a New Show!

We’ve been on a short hiatus here on this blog but are back with plenty of news!

First, opening tonight is a new exhibit at the West End Gallery featuring a collection of work by the late Thomas Buechner.  It’s a wonderful group of paintings that features work from different points in Buechner’s long and prolific career.  There are examples of his portraiture, still lifes and landscapes as well as a group of caricatures and watercolors.  All in all, a fascinating look at the career of one of our most renowned and influential painters.

In the Upstairs Showcase, there is a group of paintings from Buechner’s private collection including works from masters such as Clyde Aspevig and Ogden Pleissner.  There is also a group of caricatures from David Levine, one of America’s best known caricaturists.

This show runs from Thursday, October 20 until November 11, 2011.  It opens tonight with a reception that runs from 5-7:30 PM, sponsored by Leigh Ann Evans Interior Design.  Music is provided by guitarist William Groome.

Our second bit of news is the unveiling this week of the new website  for the West End Gallery.  Jesse Gardner has brought a new look and some new features to the site to better present the work of the artists in their gallery.  It has a refreshing feel and we invite you to take a look.  Let us know what you think.
