We are very excited here at the West End Gallery about the newest additions to our talented roster of artists. In the last post we showed a sampling of the work of Joseph Q. Daily, if you can call a painting that is over six feet tall a sampling! Joseph comes to us from Vestal where he has crafted quite a strong career, gaining much renown in his relatively short life. He was trained in classical drawing and painting and his masterful works are now at the peak of representational oil painting. His beautifully rendered commissioned portraiture has been much sought here and abroad. We are very pleased to be able to show his work to our friends here in Corning.
We have two epic, museum-quality pieces from Joseph Q. Daily on hand for this show that you won’t want to miss. The first is Portrait of the Artist’s Fiancée in her Maidenhood that was featured in the previous blog entry and the second is the beautiful Preparations For Spring, shown at the top here. They will certainly capture your eye as will his other work that is on hand for this year’s Director’s Choice exhibit.
Director’s Choice begins with an opening reception on Friday, November 29, that runs from 5-7:30 PM. Please stop in for a glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres and other refreshments while taking in this wonderful work. There will also be music provided by Michele Gordon and Dennis Winge. It should be a wonderful night of music and art so come on out!
